01 / The work
Keep routine finance tasks moving.
This role suits defined, repeatable work with instructions and a reviewer available. Depending on the scope you agree, an L01 finance officer can help with:
- Entering supplier invoices and transaction details using your coding rules, with exceptions flagged for review.
- Organising receipts, invoices and supporting records in the systems you provide.
- Updating accounts payable and receivable records, following up missing information and preparing routine payment reminders for approval.
- Compiling agreed reports and schedules from existing records so your team can review them.
Your team sets priorities, approves payments and resolves accounting judgements. The role provides finance administration; it does not include independent accounting advice, tax advice or responsibility for financial sign-off.
02 / The fit
Useful when the process is clear and the work repeats.
You may already have a finance manager, accountant or business owner reviewing the work, but need more capacity for the tasks between reviews. Tell us the software, approximate invoice volume, deadlines and hours you need covered. We can discuss the experience and availability required for your role.
Before handing over work, agree written steps, examples of completed work and which questions should come back to your reviewer. You can meet suitable candidates and agree any practical assessment before deciding.
03 / Scope and pricing
From $21.50/hour.
Prices are in AUD and exclude GST. Your monthly quote is based on the agreed duties and hours. Any setup, software, integration or other requirements are quoted in advance for your approval before work starts.
More complex reconciliations, independent month-end work and specialist reporting may require a different level. Higher-level roles are quoted separately. If you need broader ownership of the books, compare remote bookkeeping staff; for month-end accounts and analysis, see remote accounting staff.
Discuss the work and hours04 / Working together
Give each task a clear finish and review point.
Agree the systems, document handover, coding instructions, deadlines and person responsible for reviewing the output. Confirm the working schedule around your time zone. Scope, staff location, access, confidentiality and the monthly fee belong in the written agreement.
Provide an individual account with the access needed for the role. Keep payment release, changes to supplier banking details and final reporting approval with your designated team members. Review the routine together as your workload changes.
