Dedicated remote accounting staff
An accountant who works with your team.
Add dedicated support for month-end accounts, reporting schedules and financial analysis. Set the priorities, agree the working hours, and know the monthly fee before the work begins.
Discuss an accountant role01 / The work
Make room for the work that needs a second pair of hands.
A remote accountant can work within your existing accounting process rather than take over decisions that belong to your business or firm. The role may include:
- Preparing month-end accounts and the schedules that support them.
- Maintaining reconciliations and following up items that need review.
- Preparing recurring management reports and supporting financial analysis.
- Organising working papers so your reviewer can see what has been done and what remains open.
The final scope depends on your software, transaction volume, reporting cycle and the experience you require. We agree it with you rather than assume every team needs the same job description.
02 / The fit
Useful for a finance team or an accounting firm.
You may need steady month-end capacity, help preparing reporting packs, or someone dedicated to the recurring accounting work that competes with client or management time. Tell us where the work sits today and who will review it. We can then discuss the role, relevant experience, software and the hours that need to overlap with your team.
Speak with suitable candidates, confirm their experience and availability, and agree any practical assessment before deciding.
03 / Working together
A clear handover makes the day-to-day work easier.
Before starting, define the deliverables, systems, reporting dates, point of contact and review steps. Agree the working schedule around your time zone, including public holidays and daylight-saving changes where relevant. Confidentiality, staff location, access, notice and replacement arrangements belong in the written agreement alongside the scope and fixed monthly quote.
Keep individual system accounts, only the access needed for the role, and your existing approval controls. Your organisation remains responsible for supervision, review and sign-off. A remote staffing arrangement does not replace the registration and supervision required for Australian tax or BAS services.

If transaction entry, bank reconciliations and supplier or customer accounts are the immediate priority, see our remote bookkeeping staff page. You can also return to FinanceDesk to compare the roles and how an enquiry works.

Tell us what your accountant would take on.
Share the tasks, software, working hours and review arrangements you have in mind. Please leave financial records, client documents and credentials out of the enquiry form. We’ll follow up to understand the role and discuss a monthly quote; sending an enquiry is not a commitment.
